A rare, undisclosed Macallan single cask malt, marking the debut release in an exciting new collaborative series between the Aqvavitae YouTube channel's Roy and a line-up of respected independent bottlers. This inaugural edition has been bottled by Decadent Drinks under the Virtual Malt name.
Distilled in 2008, this single malt was matured for 17 years in a first-fill sherry hogshead, then bottled at Roy's favoured strength of 55% ABV to preserve maximum flavour and intensity. Following careful selection by whisky expert Angus MacRaild and Roy himself, the cask yielded just 344 individually numbered bottles, making this an exceptionally limited release for collectors and fans of independently bottled Macallan.
The bottle's label is a standout feature in its own right, designed by artist Arne Wern and depicting a richly detailed pub scene inspired by the legendary "vPub" community. The artwork is packed with references and characters familiar to the channel's audience, including several well-known "Bar Flys" alongside Roy himself, pouring drams behind the bar.
With its single cask provenance, sherry-driven maturation, and tightly limited bottle count, this release is set to be highly sought-after among both Macallan collectors and fans of the Aqvavitae community.
