The Macallan 12 Years Old Sherry Oak is a cornerstone of the distillery's core range, matured exclusively in sherry-seasoned oak casks to deliver the rich colour and dried fruit character the Sherry Oak name is built on. In 2018, this expression — alongside the Double Cask and Triple Cask ranges — was formally rebranded as the Sherry Oak Cask expression as part of a wider streamlining of The Macallan's core lineup.
Despite the naming change, the whisky itself remains true to the style that first established The Macallan's reputation, offering an accessible yet complex introduction to sherry cask maturation at twelve years of age.
