Springbank Local Barley 2011 11 Year Old 2023 Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl 55.1%

Springbank’s Local Barley series is among the distillery’s most sought-after releases, celebrating the connection between Campbeltown whisky and the surrounding Kintyre landscape. Each edition is made using locally grown barley, allowing whisky enthusiasts to explore the influence of specific farms and barley varieties while experiencing Springbank’s traditional approach to production.

This 2011 vintage was produced using Belgravia barley grown at Glencraigs Farm on the Kintyre Peninsula, only a few miles from Springbank Distillery. The barley was malted on Springbank’s own traditional malt floors before being distilled, matured and bottled entirely on-site, preserving the hands-on methods that define this historic Campbeltown producer.

Distilled in May 2011 and bottled on 12 December 2022, this 11 Year Old expression was released in 2023 as part of the Local Barley series. The whisky is a carefully selected vatting of 55% sherry casks, 35% bourbon casks and 10% rum casks, bottled at natural cask strength of 55.1% ABV without chill filtration or added colouring.

Limited to only 15,000 bottles worldwide, this release has become highly regarded among Springbank collectors due to its rare local barley provenance, small production run and distinctive combination of cask influences.
