This 18 Year Old Speyside (M) was distilled in 2008 and independently bottled by Signatory Vintage in 2026 as Exceptional Cask 100 Proof Edition #18. Matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, it was bottled at the series' signature 100 UK Proof strength of 57.1% ABV.
Signatory Vintage has built an enviable reputation for independently bottled Scotch whisky, selecting mature parcels from distilleries across Scotland and presenting them with an emphasis on cask character. The Exceptional Cask range sits alongside its popular 100 Proof series, focusing on older and particularly noteworthy stocks while retaining the distinctive 57.1% bottling strength.
The distillery behind the Speyside (M) designation is not officially named on the bottling. Although the identity is widely associated by specialist retailers with a famous Speyside producer, it is more accurate to describe this as an undisclosed Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Eighteen years in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts gives this limited release a firmly sherry-led profile, with published tasting notes highlighting dried fruit, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, citrus and warming spice. A particularly interesting release for followers of Signatory Vintage and mature, heavily sherried Speyside whisky.
