Speyside (M) 17 Year Old 100 Proof Exceptional Cask Edition No.16 is a limited independent bottling from Signatory Vintage, created as part of the 100 Proof Exceptional Cask series. This collection focuses on carefully selected single casks presented at a traditional high strength, allowing the whisky’s natural character and maturation influence to be fully appreciated.
Distilled in 2005 and matured for 17 years, this expression was aged in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt, allowing the Speyside spirit to develop rich layers of dried fruit, spice and oak complexity. Bottled in 2023 at 57.1% ABV (100 Proof), the whisky is presented at a robust strength that retains depth, texture and intensity.
The exact distillery remains undisclosed, with Signatory identifying the whisky only as a Speyside single malt from a distillery beginning with “M”. This approach adds an element of intrigue for collectors who enjoy exploring independently bottled releases where the focus remains on cask quality rather than brand recognition.
Limited to 662 bottles, this individually numbered release represents a rare opportunity to experience a mature Speyside single malt selected and bottled by one of Scotland’s most respected independent bottlers.
