This Mortlach 17 Year Old 2007 single malt was independently bottled by Signatory Vintage as part of the Symington’s Choice range, showcasing the depth and intensity that can develop through long maturation in a carefully selected single cask.
Distilled at Mortlach on 27 November 2007, the whisky was matured for 17 years in a first-fill Oloroso sherry cask before being bottled in 2025 at natural cask strength of 56.7% ABV. The maturation in fresh Oloroso wood has allowed the spirit to develop a rich profile with layers of dried fruit, spice and oak character, while preserving the distinctive weight and complexity associated with Mortlach’s traditional Speyside spirit.
The Symington’s Choice range represents Signatory Vintage’s focus on exceptional individual casks, selected to highlight the character of specific distilleries and maturation styles. Each release is limited to the contents of a single cask, offering whisky enthusiasts a unique expression that cannot be replicated.
This cask yielded only 674 bottles worldwide, making it a highly limited release for collectors and fans of Mortlach. Bottled at cask strength, this expression provides an opportunity to experience a mature Speyside single malt with the full influence of first-fill Oloroso sherry maturation.
