Created as part of the fifth annual release in The Macallan Harmony Collection, Inspired by Organic Cherrywood Lapsang Tea is a travel retail exclusive developed in collaboration with premium tea specialists JING Tea. The expression draws inspiration from JING's innovative Organic Cherrywood Lapsang tea, reimagining the traditional smoky Chinese black tea through the lens of The Macallan's distinctive sherry cask maturation.
Bottled at 44.9% ABV, this limited-edition single malt is matured in a combination of sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks. European oak contributes layers of rich dried fruits, warming spice and structured tannins, while American oak adds sweeter notes of vanilla and toffee. A carefully selected component of smoky casks echoes the delicate cherrywood smoke used during the tea's production, creating an elegant bridge between whisky and tea.
As with every Harmony Collection release, sustainability plays an important role. The presentation box incorporates repurposed waste tea leaves into its paper, reflecting The Macallan's ongoing commitment to innovative packaging and responsible material use. Combining exceptional presentation with an intriguing flavour profile, this travel-exclusive release is a distinctive addition to both Macallan collections and modern limited-edition whisky portfolios.
