This single-cask Highland Park was distilled in 2007 and matured for 17 years before being bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 2025 for its respected Connoisseurs Choice collection.
Maturation took place entirely in first-fill sherry butt #5358, bringing a pronounced sherry influence to Highland Park's naturally aromatic and lightly smoky spirit. The cask was bottled at its natural strength of 59.9% ABV, with an outturn limited to just 606 bottles.
Highland Park produces its single malt on Orkney, where locally sourced heather-rich peat from Hobbister Moor contributes the subtle aromatic smoke associated with the distillery. In this release, that underlying distillery character is paired with raisin, citrus and red-fruit notes from prolonged sherry-cask maturation.
Gordon & MacPhail's Connoisseurs Choice range dates back to 1968 and focuses on individual perspectives from established Scottish distilleries through carefully selected single casks and small batches. Releases in the range are presented without chill filtration and at natural colour.
A particularly attractive bottling for Highland Park enthusiasts, combining significant age, first-fill sherry maturation, cask-strength presentation and a limited single-cask outturn.
