Glenlossie 16 Year Old 200 | Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice Cask 6777 | 70cl, 57.1%

This single-cask Glenlossie was distilled in 2008 and matured for 16 years before being bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 2024 for its long-established Connoisseurs Choice collection.

Maturation took place in refill sherry hogshead #6777, allowing the sherry influence to develop without completely masking Glenlossie’s lighter Speyside character. The whisky was bottled at a natural cask strength of 57.1% ABV, with the single hogshead yielding only 252 bottles.

Founded near Elgin in 1876, Glenlossie has historically produced much of its whisky for blending, meaning independently bottled single malts remain one of the best ways to explore the distillery in greater depth.

Gordon & MacPhail’s Connoisseurs Choice range was created in 1968 and has become an important showcase for individual distillery character through carefully selected single casks and small-batch releases.

Cask #6777 develops Glenlossie’s fruit-led style in a richer direction, combining dried fruit, citrus and butterscotch with chocolate, fruit cake and warming spice. Its limited outturn, cask-strength presentation and refill sherry maturation make it an appealing release for enthusiasts of independently bottled Speyside whisky.
