Distilled using Scotland’s slowest stills, the spirit is given time to develop exceptional depth before maturing in a carefully selected combination of sherry and bourbon casks.
A generous proportion of first-fill European oak sherry casks plays a key role in shaping this expression, bringing rich layers of dried fruit, spice and oak while allowing Glengoyne’s naturally fruity spirit to remain at the forefront. The result is a whisky of remarkable balance, combining sweetness, complexity and elegant maturity.
Matured for a minimum of 18 years and bottled at 43% ABV, Glengoyne 18 Year Old is presented in its natural colour, reflecting the influence of the casks alone without the addition of artificial colouring. The distillery's patient approach to maturation has made this expression a favourite among those seeking a rich yet approachable Highland single malt.

Colour
Natural rich gold.
Nose
Rich aromas of ripe orchard fruits, creamy vanilla and toffee are complemented by dried fruit, cinnamon and polished oak.
Palate
Smooth and full-bodied, with flavours of baked apples, rich sherry sweetness, caramel and honey balanced by warming spices, toasted almonds and gentle oak.

Glengoyne
Founded 1833
Glengoyne is one of Scotland’s most picturesque distilleries and is a short trip from Glasgow in Dumgoyne. Originally founded in 1833 as the Burnfoot distillery, this area was a hotbed of illegal distilling, with its glens and abundance of water, crops and fuel sources. It wasn’t until 1905 that Glengoyne was renamed after a spell as Glenguin. Today, the distillery is firmly established thanks to the ownership of Ian Macleod Distillers who took over in 2003 after purchasing the distillery from the Edrington Group. They immediately sought to establish the distillery and build upon its reputation for using sherry casks and being unpeated. Those core principles remain today, although an ex-bourbon cask Glengoyne can be a lovely thing. Just over a million litres are produced annually and this supports a variety of age statements with the 21 year old being a highlight, while many enthusiasts enjoy the robust nature of the Teapot dram.
