Named after the parliament of rooks that nest in the ancient trees surrounding GlenDronach Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, Parliament is the crowning expression of one of Scotland's most celebrated sherry cask specialists. A 21-year-old non chill-filtered single malt matured in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, this is a whisky that has become a benchmark release for lovers of deeply sherried single malts — and one that consistently receives outstanding reviews from critics and enthusiasts alike.
GlenDronach has long been revered for its mastery of sherry cask maturation, and Parliament represents the pinnacle of that expertise. The combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks is a masterstroke — the Oloroso contributing its characteristic dried fruit richness and warming spice, while the intensely sweet PX casks add a deep, dark, almost syrupy layer of complexity that sets Parliament apart from virtually any other heavily sherried malt at this age.

Colour
Colour: Extraordinarily deep mahogany, almost black at the edges – a testament to 21 years in the finest sherry casks.
Nose
Nose: Deeply complex and opulent, with dark fruit, morello cherry, and rich PX sweetness, layered with Oloroso spice, leather, dark chocolate, and a hint of aged oak. Christmas cake and walnut develop with time in the glass.
Palate
Palate: Luxuriously full-bodied and richly textured, opening with an intense wave of dark fruit, treacle, and PX sweetness, developing into warm spice, espresso, dark chocolate, and a firm but beautifully integrated oak structure built over two decades of sherry cask maturation.
Finish
Finish: Exceptionally long and deeply satisfying, with lingering dark fruit, spice, and a final flourish of sweet, rich sherry oak that seems to go on indefinitely.
Glendronach
Founded 1826
The crown jewel in the Brown Forman Scotch empire started life in 1826 near the village of Forgue in Aberdeenshire. A perfect spot, surrounded by farms eager to sell their barley to the distillery, which continues to this day. GlenDronach had an unsettled 90 years or so, with various owners and the menace of fire damaging the distillery. In 1960, William Teacher & Sons made the wise choice to purchase the distillery, which already had a reputation for using sherry casks. This only grew when an expansion to 4 stills was completed in 1966, despite being a rather unsightly extension amongst all the traditional buildings. A period of closure in the 90s to this day is being felt amongst supporting its age statements before new owners decided to sell to the Billy Walker consortium. Through his use of casks and special releases, a new generation fell in love with the whisky. An expanding range has been cut back by Brown Forman, who paid a sizeable fee to become the new owners of the distillery along with BenRiach and Glenglassaugh.
