This single-cask Glen Grant was distilled in 2009 and matured for 16 years before being bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 2025 as part of its long-running Connoisseurs Choice collection.
The whisky spent its full maturation in refill sherry hogshead #900933, allowing Glen Grant's naturally light and fruit-forward spirit to develop alongside richer dried fruit, citrus and chocolate notes. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 56% ABV, the cask produced just 261 bottles.
Founded in Rothes in 1840 by brothers John and James Grant, Glen Grant became particularly renowned under James 'The Major' Grant, who introduced the tall, slender stills and water-cooling purifiers that remain fundamental to the distillery's character. These features encourage increased reflux during distillation, contributing to Glen Grant's notably delicate and aromatic spirit.
Gordon & MacPhail has a particularly long association with Glen Grant, with sherry-matured independent bottlings forming an important part of its historic stocks. Cask #900933 offers a richer interpretation of the distillery, combining its fresh fruit character with the additional depth of prolonged refill sherry maturation.
