A remarkable celebration of Campbeltown whisky, the Campbeltown Loch Blended Malt brings together single malt from all five of the town's working distilleries — Springbank, Longrow, Hazelburn, Kilkerran, and Glen Scotia — vatted and bottled at Springbank Distillery. With Campbeltown once the whisky capital of the world and now home to just this handful of producers, this 2023 release is a genuinely unique bottle that captures the full character of Scotland's most distinctive whisky region in a single dram.
Each of the five contributing distilleries brings its own personality to the vatting — from the lightly peated elegance of Hazelburn and the heavily peated intensity of Longrow, to the partial triple distillation of Springbank, the coastal brininess of Glen Scotia, and the fruity, sherried character of Kilkerran. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks before being brought together, the result is a whisky of impressive complexity and balance that is far greater than the sum of its already exceptional parts.
