A rare and historically significant limited release from Bimber Distillery, one of London's most exciting and critically acclaimed craft whisky producers, bottled to commemorate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III on 6th May 2023. This small batch expression is a genuine collector's piece — a whisky that marks one of the most significant moments in recent British history, produced by one of the most talked-about new distilleries in the country.
Bimber has built a remarkable reputation in a short space of time, producing single malt whisky of exceptional quality from its West London distillery using traditional methods and an uncompromising attention to detail. This Coronation release showcases the distillery at its most creative, marrying ex-bourbon and ex-red wine matured Bimber single malt to create a whisky of genuine complexity and character — two distinctly different cask influences brought together to produce something greater than the sum of their parts.
Bottled at a natural strength of 52.2% ABV, without chill-filtration and at natural colour, this is Bimber in its most honest and characterful form. Just 1,400 individually numbered bottles were produced, making this a highly limited release that is certain to become increasingly sought-after as time passes and remaining stock diminishes.
Bimber
Founded 2015
This London based distillery was founded in 2015 and hasn’t looked back since. Gaining local, then national popularity and in 2020, a series of single cask releases specific to various countries abroad. Starting out with a small 2 still set-up, Bimber has recently expanded to meet demand. Additional wooden washbacks were installed in 2019 as well. At the heart of its success is an attention to detail; using malted floor barley and production methods to enhance the flavour of the new make spirit. An intensive cask programme ensures that Bimber works well in a variety of wooden vessels from a young age. Demand means that releases from the distillery are in short supply, with even a small batch range selling out. We can expect more Bimber in 2021 including a new series based on stations within the London Underground network.
